I have a set of these from 2005 and a set from 2009. The newer helmets weigh less. They are about 10% smaller. The facemasks are thinner and flimsier. The facemasks are shaped less realistically. The inside padding does not go completely around the ear hole as with the 2005 model, so it is less realistic. They are cheaper.
I hope someone from Riddell reads this. They need to improve the quality of their products, not lessen the quality as with these helmets.
At this rate, in 2024 the helmets will be as big as a marble and be made of cardboard.

Decent product, and our 8 yo son loves playing with these.
Ours arrived bent and folded, crushed in a box, and was hardly presentable as a gift. For the price and the shipping, that was very frustrating.
Consider choosing a different vendor.

This is a very nice productt. IT really holds the interests of football fans, even young kids who follow the sports.
